About Us

Joan Baker began making jewelry when she was just a child. She would pour over the pages of Seventeen magazine and draw inspiration. She got back into it again about ten years ago by signing up for the odd jewelry class here and there.

Although she is not a silversmith, she has taken basic jewelry making classes in Ottawa. She only makes one-of-a-kind pieces, to prevent boredom and because she only purchases one or two lengths of specific beads from her local vendors.

Whenever she looks at the individual materials she works with, her mind's eye automatically begins assembling them.

Her wish is to create jewelry that is personal to her (So Moi Creations) and to the buyer (So Toi - So you) . Her pieces are original, funky at times, unusual, unexpected and inspire confidence. Her ideal client is a woman in her 60's+ who knows what she wants, makes self -purchases, and who wants to stand out.
